AUDREY OVELLA SNYDER Funeral services for longtime Monticello, Utah resident Audrey Ovella Snyder will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 at the Dove Creek First United Methodist Church. Reverend Rick Carpenter will officiate. Interment will follow at Monticello Cemetery. A viewing has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the church. Ovella was born December 12, 1918 in Utleyville, Colo. the daughter of Albert Watkins and Nora (Blendon) Elrod. She passed away at San Juan Hospital in Monticello on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the age of 95. On March 6, 1942 at the First United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs, Colo., Ovella married Walter Snyder. They shared 60 years of marriage before his death in 2002. She was a member of the Dove Creek First United Methodist Church. Ovella enjoyed reading and drawing. She also loved to cook and she loved her roses. Spending time outdoors brought Ovella much enjoyment especially when she had a fishing pole in her hand. Surviving Ovella are her children, Nancy Spry of Colorado Springs, Colo., Sidney Snyder and wife, Phyllis of Cortez, Phyllis Crowley and husband, Gary of Eastland, Utah, and Fred Snyder and wife, Jeannine of Ucolo, Utah; and 14 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Ovella was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Snyder; parents, Albert and Nora Elrod; son, John Snyder; daughter, Karen Snyder; grandson, Bryan Snyder; son-in-law, Earle Spry; sisters, Avis Snyder, Vera Frisbie, and Alice Reising; and brother, James Bosley. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Dove Creek or to the charity of one's choice.
