AUDIE MOORE Graveside services for lifelong Cortez resident Audie Moore will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13 at Cortez Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. Audie was born November 22, 1924 in Rose, Okla. the son of Ellis James and Jennie Well (Sisco) Moore. He passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at his daughter's home in Denver, Colo. at the age of 88. Audie graduated from the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Okla. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Audie was a Purple Heart recipient. He married Thelma Louise Mallams in Tulsa on December 24, 1943. Audie spent 50 years working in the oil and gas industry as a consultant. He owned and operated Audie Moore Inc. In his free time, Audie loved watching cowboy movies. Surviving Audie are his children, Carolyn Rugar and husband, Lawrence of Denver, and Darrell Moore and wife, Marcy of Buffalo, N.Y.; his grandchildren, Christian Moore, Timothy Moore, and Andrew Moore; and by four great-grandchildren. Audie was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Thelma Moore; and by his son, Ronald Moore.
