ART RYTTING A Celebration of Life for Art Rytting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3 at the Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75 in Cortez. Hamburgers will be provided. Please bring a side dish to share. Please call the Legion at 565-8151 with any questions or for further information. Art Rytting, 73, formerly of Wells, Nev. Passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 30, 2014 in Cortez, Colo. Cortez had been his home for the past several years. He made many good friends there who were like family to him. He was born in Montello, Nev. on August 1, 1940. He lived in the northern part of Nevada for most of his life. He was a ranch hand, heavy equipment operator and a long haul truck driver. One of his favorite pastimes was dancing. He did this at the American Legion Hall in Cortez. Art was the son of Darrel and Edna Rytting, both deceased. He is survived by a daughter, Ronnie Lynn of Montana; one sister, Mary Beagley and husband, Steve; and one brother, Tim Rytting and wife, Tina both of Bakersfield, Calif. he is predeceased by two brothers, Darrel Lee and Monte Kurt. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces. He is also predeceased by his faithful companion, his dog "Rope". The family would like to thank those who looked in on Art and checked on him often. It helped to know you were there for him.
