Archie Royal Leigh

ARCHIE ROYAL LEIGH Archie Royal Leigh was born December 12, 1929 in Montezuma County the son of George Leslie Leigh and Alvina (Stecklein) Leigh. He passed away Monday, December 20, 2010 at Vista Mesa at the age of 81. Archie drove a maintainer, grading Montezuma County roads for over 47 years. He was also a rancher and enjoyed racing horses with his family in his early years. Archie is survived by his siblings, George Leigh and wife, Connie of Cortez, Virginia West and husband, Otho of Caddo Gap, Ark., Johnie Leigh and wife, Bertha of Henderson, Nev., and Jerry Leigh of Clarksville, Ark.; his sister-in-law, Debbie Leigh of Albuquerque, N.M.; and many nieces and nephews. Archie was preceded in death by his parents; by his brothers, Robert Joe Leigh and Larry Lyle Leigh; and by his sister, Breatice “Bessy” Simonton. Cremation has taken place and Archie’s urn will be buried at the Old Dolores Cemetery.
