ANTHONY VALOIS "ANTS" ESPINOZA Funeral Mass for lifelong Cortez resident Anthony Valois "Ants" Espinoza will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, March 15 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Anthony was born January 13, 1972 in Cortez the son of Valois John and Sylvia Dora (Vigil) Espinoza. He passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colo. at the age of 40. Anthony spent many years working as a carpenter and he was proud of the house he built for his family. He worked for a few years on an oil rig as well, and was also an herbal gardener. In his free time, Anthony enjoyed riding horses, spending time in the mountains, hunting, camping, fishing and playing poker. Anthony's family meant the world to him. Consistent with his giving nature, Anthony was an organ donor. His gift will help people with heart, kidney, liver and cornea transplant needs. Surviving Anthony are his wife, Timber Higgins of Cortez; his children, Robert Espinoza, Anthony John Espinoza, and Adrianna Espinoza, all of Cortez; his sister, Valerie Espinoza of Grand Junction, Colo.; his nephew, Virgil Espinoza of Cortez; four nieces; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents; and by his brother, Joseph Espinoza. Memorial contributions may be made in Anthony Espinoza's name to Dolores State Bank.
