ANNIE NORINE HINTON Funeral services for lifelong area resident, Annie Norine Hinton will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 13 at the Cortez Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Empire Street Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation has been set for 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Relief Society Room at the L.D.S. Church. Annie Norine Hermance was born in Plainview, Texas on April 12, 1922. She left this life on July 8, 2010 in Cortez, Colo. at the age of 88. Annie had five siblings and spent her younger years with her mother, Josie and father, Otis Nielson in the mining camps of Silverton and Rico. She attended school in Rico, Silverton, Dolores and Cortez. Annie and Charles were married 70 years ago on September 21, 1939 in Aztec, N.M. They had three children, DeEtta Johnson, Steven, and Maxine Clinger and husband, Ken all living in Cortez. They now have ten grandchildren, 27 great grandkids, and two great great grandkids living, two on the way, and one deceased. Annie and Charles experienced World War II, then moved forward in life being a couple working hard, raising their family, enjoying farming, the mountains and their cattle. Annie loved being a wife and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She lived for her family. Annie was a lifetime member of the Southwest Colorado Cowbelles. In her free time she enjoyed working in the yard and sewing. Missing Annie will be her husband, Charles; the children and grandkids; Andy Nielson, her youngest brother living in Oregon; and her extended family and many, many friends. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Annie Hinton with the Cattlemen's Scholarship Fund or the Cowbelles' Scholarship Fund.
