ANELLE DERRICK Funeral services for lifelong area resident, Anelle Derrick will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 31 at the Cortez Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Empire Street Chapel. Bishop Dave Mortensen will officiate. Interment will follow at Lewis Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Anelle was born July 7, 1952 in Reserve, N.M. the daughter of Arthur Clinton and Cora Faye (Reynolds) Adair. She passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the age of 55. A 1970 graduate of MCHS, Anelle later married Kenneth Lee Derrick on August 31, 1978 in Manti, Utah. Anelle was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church. She was also a very dedicated homemaker and mother. Anelle followed her children in the sports they loved and she gave of her time score keeping for volleyball and basketball. She also coached for softball, volleyball, and basketball. Anelle was an avid reader, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and sewing as well. She was talented as a musician and was able to play various musical instruments. Surviving Anelle are her husband of 29 years, Ken Derrick of Lewis, Colo.; her children, Lindzi Helgesen and husband, Jack of Layton, Utah, Shawn Derrick and wife, Stephanie of Rexburg, Ida., and Andrea Gropp and husband, Cory of Rexburg, Ida.; and by her grandchildren, Alyssa Helgesen, Hadlee Helgesen, Loryn Helgesen, Bradley Derrick and Danielle Derrick. Also surviving Anelle are her three brothers, Lynn Adair of Santa Fe, N.M., Doug Adair and wife, Julie of Murray, Utah, and Chuck Adair and wife, Colleen of Lawton, Okla.; and her sister, Fay Etta Davison and husband, Jack of Durango, Colo. She was preceded in death by her son, Travis Derrick; grandchild, Landon Derrick; and by her parents. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Anelle Derrick with First National Bank.
