ANAH MARIE BARNETT Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident Anah Marie Barnett will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 23 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Following the memorial service there will be a dinner held at the Lighthouse Baptist Church, 11502 Highway 145, Cortez. Anah was born March 15, 1937 in Kokomo, Ind., the daughter of Harry C. and L.B. Alberta (Havens) Burcher. She passed away on February 16, 2013 in Grand Junction, Colo. at the age of 75. Anah married Gilbert Franklin Barnett and to this union four daughters were born. Anah was very involved and connected with people in her Cortez Parkinson's Group. She volunteered at the stock car races held at Montezuma County Speedway. Spending time with her family was one of her great loves. Anah especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed making Christmas bows during the holidays, traveling and shopping. Anah is survived by her daughters, Londa Hunt of Cortez, Dody Ihnen and husband, Tim of Cortez, Charma Gray and husband, Joe of Austin, Colo. and Lynnia Barnett and West Allen of Mancos; her grandchildren, Angela Baker and husband, Richard, Jeffrey Hunt and wife, Crystal, Randy Hunt and wife, Amanda, Michael Hunter, Robert Hunter and wife, Renee Durand, Dakota Frazier, Kaysi Acree, and Erica Davis; numerous great grandchildren; her sisters, Margaret Evanell Likens of Barnsville, Ohio, Bessie Thomas of Kokomo, Ind., and Rebecca Burcher of Elephant Butte, N.M.; brothers, Jack Havens Burcher and wife, Pat of Barnsville, Ohio, Paul L. "Latty" Burcher and wife, Shirley of Cortez, Robert William Burcher and wife, Pat of Richmond, Va., and Harry Albert Burcher and wife, Pat of Altus, Okla. Anah also leaves behind extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry C. and L.B. Alberta Burcher; her husband, Gilbert Barnett; and her brothers, Harry Carper Burcher, Daniel Clayton Burcher, Henry Earl Burcher, and Harvey Lee Burcher.
