ALLEAH ANN PERSELL Memorial services for longtime Rico resident, Alleah Ann Persell will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 26 at the Rico Community Church. Ann was born February 23, 1944 in Dallas, Texas the daughter of Vars William and Alleah Isabell (Pope) Bates. She passed away in Rico on November 22, 2006 at the age of 62. Ann held a long legacy to Rico being the great granddaughter of John Glascow, an early miner to the area. Her great uncle, George Moove was known as a butcher to Rico. Ann, herself, was active and well known to the residents of Rico serving in the capacities of Justice of the Peace and nurse. She was also fairly handy at electrician work. Those that knew Ann well knew that she had a deep affection for her dog, “Little Will”. Surviving Ann are her aunt, Irene Pope of Abilene, Texas; two cousins, Gage Pope of San Antonio, Texas and Billy Pope of Austin, Texas; and her former husband and longtime close friend, Harold Persell of Dolores, Colo. and Dallas, Texas.
