ALICE THERESA HALLOCK Alice Theresa Hallock was born on December 19, 1936 in Brooklyn, N.Y. the daughter of Phillip J. and Marion V. (Hoole) Short. The long time Cortez resident passed away on Friday, January 11, 2008 at her home at the age of 71. In 1976, Alice moved to Cortez. She was an active and devoted member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church until her illness kept her homebound. Alice never lost her faith. She was an avid collector of antique dolls and cats. Surviving Alice are her daughters, Lucille Chacon and husband, Marc of Riverside, Calif., Alice Ragan and husband, Curtis of Cortez, and Jennifer Hallock of Dacono, Colo.; and her sons, Edward Cunnius and wife, Judy of Everett, Wash., Russell Cunnius and wife, Pat of Somerset, Calif., and John Cunnius and wife, Marie of New River, Ariz. She also leaves behind her granddaughters, Kyla Ragan, Kamie Lowrie, and Brandi Cunnius; her grandsons, Curtis Ragan, Chris and Jason Ciriello, and Phillip, Dylan and Ethan Cunnius; one great-grandson and one on the way; her sister, Marion Marino of Florida; her sister-in-law, Ruth Short of Florida; her nieces and nephews; many life long friends back in New York; and her beloved cats and dog. Preceding Alice in death were her parents; her brother, John J. Short; her brother-in-law, Buddy Marino; and her granddaughter, Monique Ciriello. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. May you rest in peace Mom. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
