ALICE MAY (ADAM) KIMBALL Graveside services for former area resident and current Cedaredge, Colo. resident Alice May (Adam) Kimball will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4 at Lewis Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Alice was born on June 29, 1916 in Ordway, Colo. the daughter of Charles William "Charlie" and Minnie Alice (Jeffery) Adam. She passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2008 in Cedaredge at the age of 92. Alice was living with her son Chuck Kimball and wife, Dianne at the time of her death. On June 8, 1935, Alice married Glenn Kimball in Pueblo, Colo. The couple moved to the Lewis area from the Eastern slope in 1935. Upon settling they engaged in farming and ranching. Alice and Glenn raised their children in the Lewis area. When retirement approached they built a home in Cortez on M Road. After retiring traveling became a beloved pastime and Alice and Glenn spent the winter months in Apache Junction, Ariz. Alice loved working outdoors, helping Glenn on the farm, raising a big garden, tending chickens and rabbits, and of course canning many different fruits and vegetables. Surviving Alice are her children, Lavern Kimball and wife, Carolyn of Ridgefield, Wash., Josie Mae Jordan of Farmington, N.M., Charles Kimball and wife, Dianne of Cedaredge, Colo., and Larry Kimball and wife, Rhonda of Eckert, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grand-children; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William "Glenn" Kimball; one daughter, Barbara Alice Kimball; and her brother, Francis Adam.
