ALICE ANN SAUNDERS Graveside services for longtime Mancos resident, Alice Ann Saunders, will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Pastor Rick Gregory will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Alice was born to Claude LeRoy and Mable Gladys (Chadwick) Parks in Potter Valley, Calif. on November 2, 1929. She passed away at The Valley Inn on Sunday, July 12, 2015. Alice was 85 years old. Alice and her beloved husband, Abe, shared a love of music and entertaining; they created a music show called "A-A". They worked so well together they owned and operated for a number of years a bed and breakfast in Mancos and then A&A Campground near Mesa Verde National Park. Alice was a dedicated member of Mancos VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving Alice are her husband or 38 years, Abe Saunders of Mancos; six daughters, Francine Smith of California, Kathy McCulley (James) of Washington, Sharon Valencia (Galen Whisler) of Washington, Diana Calman (Paul) of California; Colleen Saunders of California, and Kathleen Saunders (Jeff Cool) of Washington; one son, Charlie Valencia of California; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; and by one sister and one brother. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Alice Saunders to the Mancos VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
