ALEX DALE SILAS

Funeral services for Alex Dale Silas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation has been scheduled for Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Ertel Chapel.
Alex was born August 11, 1993 in Shiprock, N.M. the son of Alexander Dale Silas and Carol Ann Coyote. He passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo. at the age of 28.
Surviving Alex are his parents, Carol Coyote and Alexander “Joe” Silas; his brother, Kelvin Silas; his step-brother, Anthony Bearshead; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Alex was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Katherine Wells Coyote and Walter Albert Coyote; his sister, Mariah Rose Silas; his grandparents, Ira Cuthair and Cecila Coyote Cuthair; by his paternal grandparents, Florence Bancroft Cuthair Silas, Herbert Silas Sr.; uncles, Herbie Silas Sr., Lucas Silas; aunts, Marijayne Hight-Kay, Cynthia Silas, Andrea Silas; his cousins, Raquel Frost, Sarrisa Wall, Stanley Frost, Robin Frost, Nathaniel Taylor, and Shondella Silas.
