ALBERT FLOSSMANN Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident, Albert Flossmann will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 8 at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Father Derrek D. Scott will be officiating. A prayer vigil has been scheduled at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Catholic Church. Albert was born on August 25, 1915 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany the son of Paul and Cacilia (Kasier) Flossmann. He passed away on Friday, December 2, 2005 at the Vista Grande Nursing Home at the age of 90. On August 31, 1946 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, Albert married Marianne Zollner. Albert worked as a registrar for his local city government in Germany, recording all of the births in their area. The Flossmann’s later immigrated to the United States. Upon their arrival to the Cortez area, Mr. and Mrs. Flossmann opened and ran the El Capri, Motel. Albert had a passion for music; he was a talented trumpet player. Surviving Albert were his wife, Marianne Flossmann; and his son, Albert Flossmann, Jr. both of Cortez. Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother, Paul Flossmann. Memorial contributions can be made in Albert’s memory to Hospice of Montezuma.
