ADELIA MARY SAMORA Funeral services longtime Cortez resident, Adelia Mary Samora will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 8 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. Father Derrek Scott will officiate. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Friday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. A Rosary will be said Friday evening at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church beginning at 7 p.m. Adelia was born Jan. 12, 1926 at Abiquiu, N.M. the daughter of Fermin and Leonarda (Suazo) Vialpando. She passed away at her home on Sunday, May 2, 2004 at the age of 78. A devoted homemaker, Adelia loved to cook for her family and embroider many beautiful items. She also drew much enjoyment from gardening in her flower gardens. Adelia was a member of Crusillo Society. Surviving Adelia are her children, Eloy Vialpando and wife, Alice, Raymond Samora and wife Patty, Cordie Jaramillo, Priscilla Gustamantes and husband, Sonnie, Benny Samora and wife, Bobbi, Johnny Samora and wife, Mona, and Tommy Samora and wife, Peggy all of Cortez; 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and her sister, Celine Roberts of Florida. Adelia was preceded in death by two infant children; her husband, Joe Jesus Samora in October 1996; and a son-in-law, Earl Jaramillo. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Adelia Samora with St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church.
