ADA ALENE GLENN Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident Ada Alene Glenn will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 17 at the Cortez First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Lebanon Cemetery. Pastor Tom Towns will officiate. Visitation has been scheduled for Saturday afternoon beginning at 1 p.m. at the church. Alene was born December 4, 1917 in Ada, Okla. the daughter of William Gustave and Julia (Weinmann) Clever. She passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango at the age of 94. Alene was highly involved in the community. She was a member of Eastern Star, Emblem Club, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Alene was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church. She was well-known in the community as the owner of Glenn's Greenhouse, a successful business she ran for 50 years. In her free time, Alene enjoyed dancing, playing the piano, listening to music and snow skiing. Surviving Alene are her children, Darlena Glenn of Glendale, Ariz., Patsy Hill and husband, Dave of Dolores, and Bill Glenn and wife, Linda of Cortez; four grandchildren, Kelly Hill and wife, Kati, Kip Hill and wife, Kelly, William Glenn and wife, Erin, and Hannah Polok and husband, Thomas; and five great-grandchildren. Alene was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, William Lawson Glenn; and by five brothers and one sister. Memorial contributions may be made in Alene Glenn's name to the Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75 Auxiliary.
