Aaron "Wild Bill" Wilkerson

AARON “WILD BILL” WILKERSON Memorial services for Cortez resident Aaron “Wild Bill” Wilkerson will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 12 at the Cortez American Legion Ute Mountain Post #75. Donny Johnson will be playing Aaron’s favorite western songs. Aaron was a member of the L.D.S. Church. Cremation has taken place. Aaron Workman Wilkerson was born August 1, 1923 in Hatch, Utah the son of William and Leana Workman Wilkerson. He passed away on August 21, 2009 at Vista Grande Inn. Aaron was raised on a ranch and attended school in Neola, Utah. He joined the Armed Forces during World War II and while stationed in England he met and married Eva Faye. To this union was born five children, Duane, Jim, Stephen, David and Kathleen. Aaron worked as a carpenter and lived in West Covina, Calif. and later moved to Cortez to work on the McPhee Dam Project. After he retired, Aaron sold Green River watermelons at the Notah Dineh lot for years. Aaron is survived by his siblings, Edith Lamb, Leora Walker, Ken Wilkerson and Ed Wilkerson. He was preceded in death by his wife; his sister, Donna; his son, Jim; and his longtime friend, Dorothy Graham.
